Fortier & Co caters to the individual with the most discerning tastes, providing each client with the unique opportunity to own a custom armored garment cut and handcrafted exclusively for them. To ensure that you feel and look your best, VIP Body Armor offers our exclusive custom tailoring service. You simply provide us with the garment of your choice and we will custom tailor and armor it for you (exclusions below).
With persistent attention to detail, our master tailor will skillfully integrate the body armor into your garment maximizing comfort, protection, and discreetness. Backed by our guaranteed workmanship, we will walk you through the process ensuring your satisfaction.
Once your garment has been successfully armored, you will always have the freedom to wear your garment with or without the armor, thus never losing the original function of the jacket.
Disclaimer:
It is important to recognize that not all garments are suitable for armoring. In general, most outerwear such as overcoats, jackets, suit jackets, windbreakers are acceptable. We will do a thorough inspection to see if your garment is suitable for the custom armoring process upon arrival of your garment. If it is not, we will return your garment free of charge.
Before sending your garment, we ask you to contact us first so that one of our specialists can assist you through the custom armoring process. Our specialists will be able ensure that your garment is right for armoring.
Here are some criteria to take into consideration:

Certain garments are not capable of carrying the weight of the armor. In general, any garment lighter than a light windbreaker would not be recommended.

Certain garments may not be desirable due to the alteration process because the exterior appearance may be affected, such as stitching.

The garment needs to be a comfortable-loose fit. Tight-fitted garments that conform to the body are not recommended.

The interior pockets of the original garment may no longer be accessible due to the armor lining.

The custom armoring process is a permanent process, where a liner is skillfully sewn into the original garment. However the ballistic panels can be removed from the liner, so that you have the option to wear the garment with or without the armor.

Dark garments such as Black, Grey, and Brown are most appropriate for this process

HOW TO SEND YOUR GARMENTS:

- Please include your name, address and phone number
- According to state law your garment will need to be cleaned if not in new condition before you send it.
- We will contact you upon arrival of you garment to begin the armoring process.
- If your garment is not suitable for the armoring process we will send it back to you at no charge.
